Loretta the Lowly Bookworm doesn’t fit in anywhere. All she wants is a place where she is free to be herself! But where could that be? Enter Mo the Librarian and friends to introduce Loretta to the magical world of the library through original songs, stories, drag, glitter, and joy! Rolling to you on the Beardmobile – our truck turned stage on wheels. Made in collaboration with hip-hop collective ILL DOOTS and songcatcher Sam Rise, and featuring Lili St Queer.
CHECK IT OUT!!!! celebrates Philly’s libraries as places of freedom for all families, and is recommended for bookworms aged 5-10 of all orientations, genders, and genres! Wynnefield’s Summer Reading Kick-off Party starts at 12 PM and features “Crazy Coverings” with the Center for Aquatic Sciences, face painting, balloon animals, crafts, board games, food stalls and more!
